Volleyball has always been my security blanket, my reality waiver, and my first love. This sport has always been good to me and taught me life lessons that help me become the man I am today. Through volleyball I was able to go to a prestigious private school in high school and college. I travelled to many places and met some great people in the process.

My brother Louie taught me how to play the game of volleyball when I was 8 years old. I used to wear his jersey back then dreaming I would to be able to achieve what he has achieved in volleyball. I used to follow him around; watching him practice on his own to separate himself from the pack. I guess I am still following his footsteps in the process. My family keeps ragging at me about idolizing Louie so much. But then again, he was the only male figure in my life. He acted as my brother, my uncle, my dad, my best friend and my volleyball coach. I really credit him in all the success I attained in life just by sharing the game of volleyball with me.

Getting the opportunity to coach at the collegiate level is a dream come true. I thank Centenary College for giving me such opportunity. Having the opportunity to coach a great group of hard-driven and talented ladies at a D-1 level is an overwhelming task. The expectations and responsibilities will be very challenging. I feel that this is another journey that will be an obsession to me which I need to conquer. But as of this time, I still don't know what to expect because I am still waiting to wake up anytime soon.

I have always been a fan of poems, quotes and songs. Through the years I have gathered phrases from poems, quotes and songs in which I try to live by. These are:

I thank whatever gods may be, for my unconquerable soul. I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul. ~ INVICTUS ~

It is OK to be obsessed with your craft ~MICHAEL JACKSON~

The greatest success in life is not by never failing, it is how you rise up every time you fall. ~ VINCE LOMBARDI ~

Give me one moment in time, when I'm more than I thought I could be. When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away and the answers are all up to me. ~ ALBERT HAMMON & JOHN BETTIS ~
