Wednesday, September 8, 2010
PINEVILLE, La - The Centenary Women's soccer team showed well against future ASC opponent, Louisiana College, Tuesday evening with a 4-0 win.

The Ladies won their first official game of the season, improving their record to 1-2-0.

Junior forward, Candace Rushing, played a solid game, walking off of the Wildcat's turf field with 2 assists and a goal.

The first goal of the game was scored in the first half by crafty sophomore Kelly Fossard in the seventh minute off of a direct pass from Rushing.  Minutes later, Rushing capitalized on a cross from sophomore Allie Cortes with her only goal of the night and Cortes's first assist of her career.

The Ladies produced two more goals in the second half.  The third goal of the game involved Rushing in her last assist to senior midfielder Kortney Causey who sprinted past her defender, placing the ball in the back of the net.  Junior Erika Rautio then created an opportunity for herself and fired off an unassisted shot shortly after Causey's goal from midfield for her first goal of her career at Centenary.

The Ladies outshot the Wildcats 30-0.  Centenary keeper Kalyn Harris made no saves in the full 90 minutes of play and recorded her first win of her career.

Come watch the Ladies in action against Mississippi College this Friday night at Mayo field for a 7:00 pm kick off.
