PREVIEW: Volleyball Set to Play ORU in Gold Dome

SHREVEPORT-After compiling one of its best offensive performances last time out, the Centenary volleyball team looks to rebound as it hosts Oral Roberts on Saturday at 7 pm in the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (3-10, 0-6 Summit) continue to search for their first Summit League win as they have dropped the last six contests.

Centenary has received strong offensive play from junior Stevie Kaye of late, as she paces the team with 140 kills on 402 attacks. The middle blocker also has 16 service aces and 93 digs on the defensive end for second-best on the team.

Sophomore Shelby Singleton is second with 97 kills, while junior Jaclyn Lopez and senior Bethany Kern have 77 and 74, respectively. Junior Caitlin Neese has remained a vital contributor on the offensive side with her 201 total assists.

Defensively, Lopez leads with 144 digs and junior libero Taylor Gilmour adds 83 for third-best.

Oral Roberts enters the Saturday's contest with a 6-7 record and a 4-2 mark in Summit League play after defeating South Dakota State, 3-1, on Sunday.

The Golden Eagles are led by Tatum Fredeen with 113 kills and Elizabeth McVicker with 111. Setter Laura Taylor adds 325 assists to the mix and Cassidy Holmes contributes on the defensive side with 143 digs.

Centenary and Oral Roberts met twice last season as the Golden Eagles took both contests, 3-0.

The Ladies will hit the road for four straight contests following Saturday's match as they begin their road trek in Rochester, Mich. against Oakland on Friday, Oct. 8 at 6 pm CT.
