Thursday, October 7, 2010
SHREVEPORT-Coming off an impressive and hopeful performance in its annual Maroon and White Intrasquad, the Centenary men's and women's swimming team will look to showcase their work against Henderson State on Saturday in Arkadelphia, Ark. at 1 pm.

The Gents were recently tabbed to finish second in The Summit League after preseason polls were counted, while the Ladies were selected to finish third after strong efforts in last year's championship.

Centenary had one swimmer in freshman Rachel Olson compile solid numbers, breaking into the Ladies Top 10 Times record books in the 100 Back (1:02.35) and the 200 IM (2:13.02) where she was victorious.

The Ladies return All-League award winners from last year in sophomores Hayley Schneider and Laura Huning, while the Gents return 10 of the 11 All-League recipients in sophomore Peter Henry, Caleb McSorley, Devin Ross, Ryne Smith, Adam Pennington, Josh Scott, Anthony LeBlanc, Josh Pena, Matthew Pittman and Ross Olivier.

Centenary looks to head coach Butch Jordan to lead as he was named Summit League's Men's Coach of the Year last season.

Centenary will return home following this meet to host Hendrix and Austin College on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 2 pm in Haynes Fitness Center.
