Ladies Soccer Drops First League Road Contest, 3-0

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-The Centenary women's soccer team wasn't able to secure its first league win on the road at IUPUI, as it was shutout 3-0 on Friday evening.

The Ladies (3-10, 0-4 Summit) fell to 0-4 in league play and 3-10 overall, while IUPUI improved to 7-8 and 3-2 among league standings.

Centenary was out shot 27-7 on the evening and managed to only fire off one shot on goal, which came off the foot of sophomore Allie Cortes.

Putting up shots for the Ladies were sophomore Kelly Fossard with two, junior Candace Rushing, seniors Emily McManus and Kortney Causey and sophomore Holden Penney with one each.

Junior keeper Kalyn Harris made 11 stops in goal, while playing all 90 minutes.

However, the IUPUI offense stayed consistent all evening, putting up 15 shots on goal. The Jaguars went up early 1-0 at the 18-minute mark when Megan Hock found the back of the net.

Ahead by one into the second half, IUPUI's Hock added another goal for a 2-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the final half. Owing a solid lead, the Jaguars sealed the deal with their third goal of the game when Amanda Snyder netted goal at the 83-minute mark.

Next up, Centenary will travel to Macomb, Ill. to face league foe, Western Illinois at Noon on Sunday.
