PREVIEW: Volleyball Travels to Rival, Northwestern State, Wednesday

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's volleyball team will travel to in-state rival, Northwestern State, on Wednesday for a 7 pm non-conference contest in Natchitoches, La.

The Ladies (3-14, 0-10 Summit) enter Wednesday's contest with a 3-14 overall record and a 3-4 mark in non-conference action.

Centenary is looking to snap a 12-game skid against the Demons, while NSU is looking to break open a five-game skid of its own.

Offensively, junior Stevie Kaye paces the attack offense with 167 kills and is second-best with 20 service aces. Sophomore Shelby Singleton follows with 111 kills and a squad-best .273 attack percentage.

Junior setter Caitlin Neese leads the team with 230 assists, while freshman setter Bethany Nuttall adds 191 to the mix. Junior Jaclyn Lopez has recorded 22 aces and leads Centenary with 162 digs on the defensive side.

Northwestern State is 10-11 overall and 8-4 against non-conference opponents this season. The Demons are led by Kourtney Adams with 194 kills, while Laranda Spann is next with 166. Setter Lauren Peltier has 462 assists to lead NSU, while Sarah Gillis has 270 digs for a defensive high.

Centenary and Northwestern haven't met since 2006 when the Demons defeated the Ladies, 3-0 in New Orleans, La.
