Ladies Soccer Suffers Tough Road Loss
Friday, October 29, 2010
FARGO, N.D.-The Centenary women's soccer team battled cold weather conditions and a strong North Dakota State team, falling 9-0 on Friday afternoon in Summit League action.

The Ladies (4-13, 1-7 Summit) never would build an offensive momentum as the Bison (10-6-4, 5-2-1 Summit) held Centenary to just one shot, while firing off 27 of their own as 13 landed on goal.

Last week's Summit League Co-Offensive Player of the Week, sophomore Holden Penney put up the Ladies' only attempt, which landed on goal, however it wasn't able to find the back of the net.

North Dakota State made it a 4-0 game heading into halftime after connecting on two successful attempts off corner kicks. The Bison would go on to score early in the second half after playing just 58 seconds to make it a 5-0 game.

With a convincing lead, North Dakota State continued to shoot for goal, netting four more to win 9-0.

Junior keeper Kalyn Harris played the first half in goal for Centenary, allowing four goals, while collecting four saves. Freshman reserve keeper Haleigh Coffey played the final half, allowing five goals without tallying a save.

Bison Katie Tallas led the offense for NDSU with two goals and an assist on the afternoon.

Centenary will travel to South Dakota State for a 1 pm contest against the Jackrabbits on Sunday, which will wrap up the Ladies 2010 season.
