Ladies Wrap Up Season with 3-0 Loss at SDSU

BROOKINGS, S.D.-The Centenary volleyball team wrapped up the 2010 season with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-16) loss at South Dakota State on Saturday evening in Summit League action.

The Ladies finished the year 3-23 overall and 0-18 against league opponents, while the Jackrabbits secured a spot in the league's tournament and improved to 16-13 overall and 12-6 in league play.

Centenary junior Stevie Kaye produced a double-double in the final match of the year, tallying 10 kills and 10 digs. Senior Bethany Kern racked up eight kills and nine digs and junior setter Caitlin Neese contributed with 27 assists.

As a team, the Ladies finished with a 48 percent attack percentage, but South Dakota State was better at 69 percent.

Kelli Fiegen led the Jackrabbits with 11 kills and setter Thyele Rechatiko paced with 38 assists. Shay Birath led the defense with 14 digs.
