Centenary showcased new routines and demonstrated depth in each event under the guidance of second-year head coach Gretchen Goerlitz.

"I am really proud of the team for the way we started off the meet with confidence and energy. As the season progresses we will only get stronger," said Goerlitz.

The Ladies were led by senior Marisa Schneider, who tied for first place on the Floor exercise with a score of 9.675. TWU's Amy Winczura also scored a 9.675 and teammate Brittany Johnson placed third with a 9.55.

On the Bars, the Ladies had two competitors place in the Top 3. Senior Makensie Lant and Schneider each scored a 9.625 for a second-place tie, while TWU's Johnson captured first with a 9.725.

The Pioneers earned all three top honors on the Vault, led by winners Johnson and Beth Larimer with scores of 9.725. Centenary's top finisher was sophomore Amanda Holt with a 9.625.

TWU also garnered all three places on the Beam as Roshanda Cannie scored a 9.725 for first. Senior Tara Sandoval tallied a 9.225 for the Ladies top Beam-scorer.

Johnson of TWU was the All-Around champion with a four-event total of 38.225.

"What we did tonight provides us with a starting place for what to make it look and feel like for four events. It was great to see such a large, enthusiastic audience. It may be the largest crowd since my arrival at Centenary. We will take what we learned tonight into our next week as we compete against three Top 10 teams," said Goerlitz.

Centenary will return to action on Friday, January 21 in Norman, Oklahoma. Oklahoma, Oregon State, Denver and Centenary will face off at 7 pm.
