Gym Talk: Brittany Adams
Monday, January 31, 2011
Hey everyone! It's Brittany here again to let you know how the Ladies' week went! Alright, to begin with we got  to have a nice afternoon to relax and sleep on Sunday, but at 2 we had an awesome practice where we got to work on some upgrades to make our routines look better. It was cool to see some of the skills we were going to add to routines. It was a good way to start off the week.

Monday we worked really hard on our routines, and when we came into Tuesday practice we were prepared to do "cold" routines on every event. For those of you who aren't sure of what a "cold routine" is it is where we do a routine with no warm up turns. The point of this was so we knew we could do a routine with no warm ups which would make us feel more confident at meets.  I think it did help a lot of us too because most of us succeeded on our cold routines. Definitely a confidence booster!

Wednesday we had the whole day to relax our bodies to prepare for a good day of practice on Thursday. When it finally became the day before the meet, Friday, we were able to finalize our week of practice with one made routine on every event and of course a themed practice of hearts out.

Travel day was Saturday. Most of the team met at the Gold Dome to get on a very bumpy 15 passenger bus! We jammed out to music, studied, talked, and took some short naps on our way to TWU. Once we arrived we ate some lunch and finished getting ready for the meet.

Being as cool as a team as the Ladies are we did team put ups before we went out and did warm ups . The rest of the meet went well. We had fun and cheered a lot! We may have had a couple of hiccups, but we made up for those in other places. In all, it was a good meet. Coming up in the next week we will be preparing for our last home meet and another lucky Lady will get to fill you in about it! For now must say goodbye, so adios amigos! Talk to you again!
