ARLINGTON, Texas-The Centenary softball team was double-dipped by Tulsa on Saturday afternoon in the UTA Classic, falling 11-0 and 8-0 in five innings.

The Ladies (0-9) remain winless after Saturday's contests, as they again, struggled to find offensive momentum.

Game 1: Tulsa 11, Centenary 0 (5 innings)

Junior Phyllis Hafer picked up Centenary's lone hit in Game 1 in a 1-for-2 effort at the plate. The single to center field came in the fifth and final inning to open the frame, however a strikeout, groundout and pop up would allow Tulsa to escape with an 11-0 win.

Five of the Ladies' first six hitters were fanned. Tulsa managed to put up 11 hits and force Centenary into three errors.

Senior Lauren Highsmith (0-6) (2.0,6,5,5,4,0) picked up her sixth loss of the season with the start. The righty tossed the first 2.0 innings, allowed five runs on six hits and four walks.

Freshman Lynsi Unruh (3.0,5,6,2,1,2) threw the last 3.0 frames, surrendering just two earned runs on five hits with two strikeouts. The sloppy defensive effort behind Unruh allowed for six runs to cross the plate.

Game 2: Tulsa 8, Centenary 0 (5 innings)

Centenary, again, put up just one hit in the nightcap, when junior Ashley Boccaccio doubled to right field with two outs in the third.

The Ladies were fanned six times and Tulsa fired off 12 hits.

Highsmith (0-7) (3.1,9,7,7,3,0) would suffer her second loss of the day and seventh of the year after giving up seven runs on nine hits and three walks.

Unruh (1.0,3,1,0,1,0) pitched the final inning in relief, surrendering one unearned run on three hits.

Centenary will play its final game of the UTA Classic when it meets UTA at 10 am on Sunday in the tournament's Consolation game.
