PREVIEW: Ladies on Road for Two Meets

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary gymnastics team takes the road once again for two meets over the weekend. The first stop is Columbia, Missouri to take on Big 12 Mizzou and Temple on Friday at 6:30 pm, followed by SEMO in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on Sunday at 2 pm.

The Ladies (3-8) are coming off their best overall performance of the year, having recorded their third win at TWU's Tri-Meet last weekend, beating Illinois State to place second. Centenary scored a season-best 191.125 as a team and had several Top 3 finishers.

Leading the way was senior Marisa Schneider with a first place finish on Beam with a 9.750. Sophomore Jessica Lieblich captured third in the All-Around with a 38.550. Both scores were personal bests.

The Ladies have not met Mizzou or Temple this season, but has competed against SEMO on Feb. 5 in Denton, Texas. SEMO defeated the Ladies, 190.625 to 192.475.

Leading the team on Vault is sophomore Meg Crowley with a one-time score of 9.825. Schneider paces the squad on the Bars with a 9.663, on Beam with a 9.338, and on Floor with a 9.605 for season averages.

The SEMO meet on Sunday will be Webcasted Live on KFVS12.com, beginning at 2 pm. Both the live and archived version on the web will be free of charge and no subscription needed.

Following the weekend contests, Centenary will gear up for its Alaskan trip on March 11-13 in Anchorage, AK.
