SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's soccer team opens ASC play this weekend when it hosts Schreiner at 4 pm on Friday and Texas Lutheran at 4 pm on Saturday on Mayo Field.

The Gents (1-1, 0-0 ASC) enter the weekend contests with a 1-1 record, having just dropped a 1-0 game to LSU-Shreveport on Monday.

"We are ready and excited to open ASC play," said head coach David Orr. "We are in fairly good form. We need to improve in the final thirds of the field, but overall we can see quality."

A LOOK AT STATS
Centenary, as a team, has outscored its opponents, 4-3, having earned a season-opening 4-2 win over Texas College back on Sept. 1. Schreiner enters Friday's contest with a 1-3 overall record and a 1-0 ASC record. The Mountaineers last win came in a 3-2 victory over ASC opponent, Texas Lutheran. Schreiner has been outscored by its opponents, 15-4 this season.

A LOOK AT TEXAS LUTHERAN
Texas Lutheran will meet Centenary on Saturday with a 0-4 record and a 0-1 mark in ASC play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 3-2 loss to Schreiner in their ASC opener.

"I think we're in store for two competitive opponents. Schreiner and Texas Lutheran will prove to be close in competition and we'll need to be ready to compete 180 minutes this weekend," said Orr.
