Volleyball Drops 3-1 Match to UT-Dallas

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary volleyball team wasn't able to hang on to its early lead, falling 3-1, to UT-Dallas on Friday evening in the Gold Dome.

The Ladies fell to 5-4 overall and 1-3 in ASC play with the loss.

Centenary earned a 25-21 set one win, but the Comets would bounce back to take sets two (25-19), three (25-23) and four (25-23) over the Ladies.

Senior Caitlin Neese and freshman Brooke Bahlinger each produced double-doubles, but it wasn't enough as UT-Dallas out hit the Ladies, .169 to .121.

Neese tallied 39 assists and made 16 digs on defense, while Bahlinger contributed with 13 kills and 12 digs.

Junior Shelby Singleton led the offensive attack with 15 kills on the evening, followed by Bahlinger and senior Jaclyn Lopez with nine kills.

Defensively, Centenary looked strong throughout the match as four Ladies finished with double-digit digs, led by senior Taylor Gilmour with 23. Neese followed with 16, Lopez with 13 and Bahlinger with 12.

Singleton was a part of six block assists, while Neese took part in four.

Centenary will play again on Saturday when it hosts UT-Tyler at 2 pm in the Gold Dome. Live stats are available on GoCentenary.com free of charge.
