CLINTON, Miss.-The Centenary men's soccer team allowed Mississippi College four late goals in a 4-1 loss on Saturday afternoon in ASC play.

The Gents fell to 4-2 on the year and dropped their first conference game this season.

Centenary senior Marcos Rodriguez put the Gents up 1-0 on a successful penalty kick at the 17-minute mark. It remained a defensive battle for much of the game until Mississippi College broke loose with three late goals in the second half to go up 4-1.

The Choctaws got on board with their first score of the game at the 58-minute mark on a header goal and then added the game-winner at the 62-minute mark.

Centenary would run into some unlucky shots as three consecutive fires were blocked by the Mississippi College defense. The Gents found themselves in a crunch to score, but it was the Choctaws that executed the offense down the stretch with their third and fourth goals within one minute of each other with 10 minutes left in the game.

Centenary goal keeper Robbie Ramirez played 77 minutes in goal, collecting five saves, but allowing two goals.

Sophomore keeper Chase Duet replaced Ramirez in goal for the final 13 minutes, but would give up two goals, while making two saves.

The Gents were outshot 22 to 13. Centenary was led by Rodriguez with one goal on four shots, while senior Ben Barcelona also made four shot attempts.

Centenary will return to action on Friday when it hosts LeTourneau at 7 pm on Mayo Field. Live stats will be available for the contest on GoCentenary.com free of charge.
