SHREVEPORT-The Centenary softball program unveiled its 2012 season schedule Monday afternoon. The Ladies have 17 home games, which includes a hefty home slate in April.

Centenary will play 31 American Southwest Conference games this season. The conference schedule is set up to play ASC East schools four games, most of which are scheduled for back-to-back double-header days.

"We are looking forward to playing in the ASC this year," said head coach Mark Lambert, who begins his second year at Centenary. "The ASC is the toughest softball conference in NCAA Division III with three to four teams always ranked in the Top 20."

The Ladies will open the season with a trip to Richardson, Texas to play UT-Dallas on February 17 in a double-header. Centenary's first home game will come the next day on February 18 against non-conference DIII foe, Millsaps at Noon.

A cross-over tournament in Dallas, Texas will mark the Ladies next trip as Centenary will face off against ASC West schools Howard Payne, Schreiner, and Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Centenary will not see a home game until March 17 when it hosts UT-Dallas in a double-header. That home game will begin a hefty April schedule at home for the Ladies, which features 12 straight games played at the Centenary Softball Complex.

"It is always nice playing at home and we are providing our fans with a lot of softball action this season at home," said Lambert. "With conference opponents just down the road, we should draw great crowds at the Centenary Softball Complex this season."

The Ladies will play five non-conference games this season. Centenary will play a home and away game against LSU-Alexandria and Millsaps, while hosting NCAA Division I Nicholls State on April 11.

"Our schedule is going to be tough, but we are anxious to get the season rolling," said Lambert.
