Preview: Gents Ready for Four-Game Home Stand

SHREVEPORT- The Centenary men's soccer team is set to host four games in a row over the next two weeks. The Gents will continue conference play as they welcome LeTourneau and ETBU to Mayo Field this weekend. The Gents will match up against LeTourneau on Friday and ETBU on Saturday. Both contests are set to begin at 7 pm.

The Gents (4-2, 3-1) are heading home after their first conference weekend away from Mayo Field. Centenary defeated Louisiana College with ease in a 4-0 matchup. Senior Marcos Rodriguez netted two goals on the night, while junior Spencer Nickerson and newcomer John Finn added goals of their own to the mix. The Gents suffered their first conference loss to Mississippi College on Saturday afternoon, allowing the Choctaws to respond with four goals after Rodriguez opened the game with one.

A LOOK AT STATS
The Gents continue to outscore their opponents, netting 14 goals to the opposition's seven. Leading the Gents is Rodriguez with 12 points on five goals and two assists. Behind Rodriguez in the scoring column is senior Ben Barcelona, junior Spencer Nickerson, and freshman Gabriel Zahm, each with two goals. Junior goal-keeper Robbie Ramirez has made 22 saves with a .815 percentage and three shutouts.

A LOOK AT LETOURNEAU
LeTourneau enters Friday's contest with a record of 3-4-2 overall and 3-1 in conference. LeTourneau has been outscored 9 to 12 by its opponents. The YellowJackets are coming off a 3-2 overtime win against ETBU on Tuesday.

A LOOK AT ETBU
ETBU is 2-7 overall and 2-3 in the ASC. The Tigers have been outscored by their opponents 11-26 so far this season. Sophomore Juan Ramirez leads ETBU with eight points on three goals and two assists.

UP NEXT
The Gents will continue their four-game home stay as they take on McMurry and Hardin Simmons the following weekend. Game times are set for 6 pm on both Thursday and Saturday nights.
