SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's soccer team managed to edge ETBU, 3-2, on Saturday evening in ASC play after going up 3-0 to open the game.

The Gents improved to 6-2 on the year and 5-1 in conference with the victory.

Junior Spencer Nickerson netted his third goal of the season when senior Marcos Rodriguez found him on the left side at the 6-minute mark to put the Gents up 1-0.

Centenary kept the scoring going when junior Adam Ghammeghami found classmate John Finn on the right side for Finn's second goal of the season at the 29-minute mark.

The Gents held a 2-0 advantage through halftime, but senior Aaron Bergman fired off the game-winner, his first goal of the season, on a free kick following an ETBU foul.

Up 3-0, Centenary found itself in good control until ETBU scored its first goal at the 80-minute mark and then nine minutes later made it a one-goal game with its second goal.

Junior goal keeper Robbie Ramirez picked up his fifth win of the season in goal, collecting three saves.

Centenary was out shot, 13 to 7 on the afternoon contest. Senior Ben Barcelona fired off two shots, while Finn, Ghaemmaghami, Bergman, Nickerson, and RB Asenime each had a shot.
