Volleyball Continues to Roll with Two More Wins

MARSHALL, Texas-The Centenary volleyball team recorded two 3-0 sweeps on Saturday afternoon with wins over Sul Ross State and Texas Lutheran in the ASC Dig Pink Cross-Over Challenge4 II held in Marshall, Texas.

The Ladies have now won six straight and recorded four straight sweeps to improve to 11-7 overall and 7-6 in conference play.

MATCH 1: Centenary 3, Sul Ross State 0

Centenary dominated Match 1 with three set wins: 25-18, 25-23, and 25-16.

The Ladies used 30 kills and just 11 attack errors to propel themselves to a .200 attack percentage. Senior Jaclyn Lopez led Centenary with 10 kills, followed by junior Shelby Singleton with eight and freshman Brooke Bahlinger with seven. Sophomore setter Beth Nuttall contributed with 23 assists.

Defensively senior libero Taylor Gilmour made 13 digs, while Nuttall added 12. Singleton was a part of four block assists.

MATCH 2: Centenary 3, Texas Lutheran 0

Centenary again showcased an impressive offensive effort with set wins: 25-18, 25-23, 25-21.

The Ladies were even more dominating in Match 2 with only five attack errors to its 39 kills for a .384 attack percentage. Lopez led the way again with 16 kills, followed by Singleton with 13.

Senior setter Caitlin Neese contributed with 36 assists and three service aces.

Defensively, Bahlinger made 11 digs, while Gilmour added 10.

Centenary only committed just one mistake with 13 kills in set two for a .480 attack percentage.

Centenary will be back in action tomorrow (Sunday) at home when it hosts Mississippi College at 2 pm in the Gold Dome. Live stats are available free of charge.
