Preview: Gents Soccer Plays Two on Road

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's soccer team will hit the road once again for two more contests against ASC opponents. This time around, the Gents will head to UT-Tyler and Concordia (TX). UT-Tyler will host Centenary on Thursday evening at 7 pm in Tyler, Texas. Concordia will get its turn on Saturday night beginning at 7:30 pm in Austin, Texas.

The Gents (7-2-1, 6-1-1) are coming off of a win and a draw in conference play this past weekend. The men's soccer team defeated McMurry 3-1 and tied Hardin-Simmons 0-0. Juniors John Finn and John Seat, along with senior Marcos Rodriguez, each had a goal in the 3-1 victory over McMurry. The Gents outshot the Cowboys of Hardin-Simmons 12-9 on Saturday, led by senior Ryan Christianson with three on target.

A LOOK AT STATS
The Gents continue to threaten teams offensively as they have outscored their opponents 22-11. Rodriguez remains the leader for the Gents, scoring six goals and assisting three so far. Behind Rodriguez is junior Spencer Nickerson with three goals and an assist. Junior goalie Robbie Ramirez has made 30 saves and has recorded four shutouts for the Gents.

A LOOK AT UT-TYLER
UT-Tyler is currently 9-2 overall and 6-1 in conference play. The Patriots have dropped their only conference game to Mary-Hardin Baylor. UT-Tyler will travel to Austin to take on Concordia (TX) on Tuesday evening. Leading the way for the Patriots is senior forward, Jake Urbaniak with seven goals and three assists.

A LOOK AT CONCORDIA
Concordia (TX) is currently 5-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in conference action. The Tornados dropped conference games to Mary-Hardin Baylor and ETBU. Concordia will host UT-Tyler Tuesday afternoon for a 3 pm kick-off. Leading the way for Concordia is sophomore Mohamed Diallo on five goals and two assists.

UP NEXT
The Gents will return to Mayo Field for their last two home games of the season when they host Mary Hardin-Baylor and Howard Payne next Friday and Saturday nights.
