Ladies' Streak Snapped with 3-2 Fall to ETBU

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary volleyball team looked to continue its win streak when ETBU's 3-2 victory over the Ladies snapped the run on Tuesday evening in ASC play.

The Ladies fell to 12-8 on the season and 8-7 in conference play with the loss. Centenary earned a 25-17 set one win to extend its set win streak to 18, before falling 25-23 in set two. The Ladies battled to pick up a 26-24 set three win, but ETBU was strong in the end with a 25-19 set four win and a 15-10 set five victory.

Senior Jaclyn Lopez tied her career-high with 20 kills and produced one of the Ladies' two double-doubles with 22 digs. Junior Shelby Singleton tallied 15 kills , while freshman Brooke Bahlinger added 10 in the effort.

Senior setter Caitlin Neese contributed with a match-high 43 assists, while senior Taylor Gilmour and Bahlinger each collected two service aces.

Defensively, Centenary had five players in double-digit digs, led by Gilmour with 30. She was followed by Lopez' 22 and Bahlinger's 14 for a double-double. Also making digs were Neese with 12 and junior Jesi Wilcox with 10.
Singleton produced two block solos and was a part of four block assists.

Centenary dominated set one with 13 kills and just two mistakes, but it was ETBU's strength down the stretch that gave way to a .440 attack percentage in set five for the win.

Centenary will return to play when it hosts Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday at 2 pm in the Gold Dome. The Ladies will honor their four seniors: Jaclyn Lopez, Kayla Tibaldo, Caitlin Neese, and Taylor Gilmour following Saturday's match.
