PREVIEW: Soccer to Host Final Home Games; Honor Seniors on Saturday

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's and women's soccer programs will suit up for its final two home games of the 2011 season when it hosts Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday and Howard Payne on Saturday. The Ladies will kick off at 4 pm, followed by the Gents at 6 pm on each day.

Centenary will honor its 14 seniors between Saturday's double-header. Both the Ladies and Gents will be recognized for their accomplishments on and off the soccer field as student-athletes at Centenary.

A LOOK AT THE LADIES SENIORS
The Ladies will honor four seniors: Candace Rushing, Eren Corapcioglu, Laura Immenschuh, and Catlin Orschel. All four Ladies have played four years in a Centenary uniform and have served vital roles in Centenary's success this season.

Candace Rushing
Memphis, TN - #17
Candace is a four-year letterwinner for the Ladies after redshirting a season due to injury. She will graduate departmental honors and a degree in Elementary Education and has plans on attending LSU-Shreveport for a Master's in Educational Leadership, while serving as the graduate assistant soccer coach. Candace is currently second-best on the team this season with 13 total points on four goals and five assists. She has started and played in all 15 games thus far.

Eren Corapcioglu
Louisville, CO - #14
Eren is playing in her final season at Centenary, having played four full years for the Ladies. She will graduate with a degree in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science and has plans on possibly furthering her education in graduate school or pursuing a career in math or computer science. Eren has played in all 15 games thus far this season as a defender, helping Centenary to six shutout wins.

Laura Immenschuh
Leawood, KN - #3
Laura is a four-year letterwinner for the Ladies. She will graduate with a degree in Biology from Centenary and has plans on going to medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon after spending a year or two with Teach for America. Laura has played in 14 games thus far this season after battling a recent injury. She currently has tallied five points on two goals and one assist, as one of her goals came from a penalty kick.

Catlin Orschel
Elk Rapids, MI - #10
Catlin is playing in her fourth and final season for the Ladies. She will graduate with a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Spanish. After graduation, she plans on traveling to Africa to do mission work with orphaned children then attend medical school to become a pediatric oncologist. Catlin has seen action in 13 contests this season.

A LOOK AT THE GENTS SENIORS
Centenary will honor 10 seniors and one foreign exchange student on Saturday prior to the start of their game against Howard Payne. The Gents will honor seniors: Aaron Bergman, Ben Barcelona, Ryan Christianson, Marcos Rodriguez, Tate McIntyre, RB Asenime, Jihad Elaydi, Kyle Mehnert, Cody Wolfe, and Glauber Santos, along with exchange student junior John Finn.

Aaron Bergman
Denison, TX - #12
Aaron is wrapping up his four-year career as a member of the Gents. He will graduate with a degree in Health and Exercise Science and has plans on attending graduate school for athletic training. Aaron has played in all 13 games so far this season, tallying four total points on one goal and two assists, including one game-winning goal.

Ben Barcelona
Bossier City, LA - #16
Ben is a four-year letterwinner for Centenary and will graduate with a degree in Mathematics. He has plans on attending LSU for graduate school. Ben is enjoying his best season yet, playing in all 13 games and tallying two goals and one assists for five points.

Ryan Christianson
Coppell, TX - #20
Ryan has been a four-year member of the Gents squad and will graduate with a double-major on Physics and Geology. Following graduation, he has plans on attending graduate school for exploration geophysics. Ryan has been a steady force on offense this season, tallying six points on one goal, a game-winner and four assists.

Marcos Rodriguez
Mineola, TX - #7
Marcos has provided Centenary with four impressive collegiate years on the soccer team. He will graduate with a degree in Health and Exercise Science with a minor in Spanish. Following graduation, he plans on pursuing physical therapy. Marcos currently paces the Gents offensively with 17 points on six goals, three game-winners and five assists.

Tate McIntyre
Mansfield, TX - #10
Tate is wrapping up a four-year career as part of the Centenary Gents. He will graduate with a degree in Geology and a minor in English. After graduation, he plans on attending Law School or pursuing a career in the geology field. Tate is coming off an opening-season injury, which sidelined him for the first nine games. He scored his first goal of the season, a game-winner in a 3-0 shutout over Hendrix earlier this week.

RB Asenime
Irving, TX - #21
RB is playing in his third and final year for Centenary after transferring from Navy following his freshman year. He will graduate with a double-major in Accounting and Business and a minor in Finance. Following graduation, he plans on attending graduate school for a Master's in Accountancy and sit for the CPA exam. RB has been a dominate force defensively and has contributed offensively as well this season with two goals, having played in 12 games.

Jihad Elaydi
Arlington, TX - #15
Jihad has been a four-year letterwinner for the Gents and is playing in his final collegiate season. He will graduate with a degree in Physics and a double-minor in Geology and Mathematics. Following graduation, he plans on attending graduate school for a Master's in petroleum engineering. Jihad has seen action in 11 games this season, tallying one assist.

Kyle Mehnert
Carrollton, TX - #3
Kyle is playing in his fourth and final year at Centenary and will graduate with a degree in Geology. He plans on pursuing a Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering following graduation. Kyle has played in 12 games this season and has tallied two points on two assists.

Cody Wolfe
Shreveport, LA - #19
Cody joined the Gents' squad this season after attending Centenary the past three years. He will graduate with a double-major in Economics and Business. He plans on attending graduate school for his MBA. Cody has seen action in three games this year.

Glauber Santos
Brazil - #23
Glauber joined the team this year after attending Centenary as a foreign exchange student from Brazil. He is studying Communication and looks to pursue a career in video production or cinema back in Brazil. Glauber has seen action in five games this year.

John Finn
Ireland - #4
John is a junior foreign exchange student who will only play for the Gents this season. He is currently studying Finance and looks to secure employment following graduation. John has made an immediate impact this season, playing in 12 games, while notching three goals for six points.

UP NEXT
Following these final home games, Centenary will travel to UT-Dallas next Thursday and the University of the Ozarks next Saturday to wrap up the 2011 season.
