Volleyball Falls at UT-Tyler in Three Sets

TYLER, Texas-The Centenary volleyball team's offensive dominance was silenced in a 3-0 loss to UT-Tyler on the road in ASC play on Friday evening.

Centenary fell in set one 25-11, set two 25-17 and set three 26-24.

The Ladies dropped to 13-9 overall and 9-7 in conference play with the loss. It was only the third time in conference play that Centenary was swept. UT-Tyler took both matches over the Ladies this season with a 3-2 win at home back in late September.

Centenary combined for a .118 attack percentage as no Ladies saw double-digit kills. Junior Shelby Singleton led Centenary with eight kills, while senior Jaclyn Lopez added six.

Senior setter Caitlin Neese contributed with 15 assists, while Lopez tallied two service aces.

Defensively, senior Taylor Gilmour collected 21 digs, while Lopez made 12 digs. Singleton had two block solos and three block assists to assist on the defensive effort.

UT-Tyler hit .263 on the evening and forced the Ladies into 11 attack errors, seven receiving errors and three service errors.

Centenary will return to play on Saturday when it travels to UT-Dallas on Saturday for a 2 pm match.
