Friday, October 28, 2011
RICHARDSON, Texas-Earning its 12th win this season, fifth in a row and securing its fourth straight shutout, the Centenary men's soccer team continued to roll with yet another 1-0 victory over UT-Dallas on Thursday evening in ASC play.

The Gents continued to build on its best record season since 2002, improving to 12-3-1 overall.

Centenary senior Jihad Elaydi netted the game-winner and his first goal of the season on a diving header, which came from a bicycle kick pass off the foot of senior Marcos Rodriguez at the 67-minute mark.

The Gents needed just that one goal to secure a win over a very competitive Comets team, who fell to 12-3-2 with the loss.

Centenary goal keeper Robbie Ramirez played all 90 minutes in goal, collecting his eighth save of the year and 11th win, tallying eight saves.

The Gents tallied 12 shots, led by senior Aaron Bergman with three, two on goal. Rodriguez chipped in with two, one on goal.

Centenary will look to end 2011 on a six-game win streak and secure win no. 13 when it travels to the University of the Ozarks on Saturday for a 3 pm contest.
