SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's swimming team landed among the best in the nation when it broke into the Top 20 among Division III programs this week, according to Collegeswimming.com.

The Gents currently sit 20th in the nation with 74.3 performance points. Leading the nation in this week's poll is Kenyon with 40.9 points.

"When we first heard news that Centenary would be changing divisions, the team and the coaches talked, and we decided that one of our goals transitioning into Division III was to become a top ranked team," said head coach Butch Jordan. "This just shows that we are on the right path to achieving our goal."

The Gents are coming off a 156-103 win over future SCAC foe, Trinity this past Saturday. The squad is also a perfect 3-0 at home with wins over Austin College, Hendrix, and Henderson State this year.

Centenary will host Delta State on Feb. 4 at 2 pm in Haynes Fitness Center, before wrapping up the season at the NSISC Championships in Cleveland, Miss. on Feb. 23-25.
