SHREVEPORT – Centenary softball makes its home debut Thursday afternoon, hosting a 4:30 p.m. doubleheader against Millsaps College.

The Ladies continued its rough start to the season, dropping their eighth straight game for a 0-8 start, but can bounce back and garner their first win Thursday afternoon as the Majors visit. The Majors are 4-6, but have failed to record a road victory, dropping its first four games away from home. Millsaps is nearly perfect at home (3-1) but struggles on the road.

Jessica McDonald heads Centenary’s offense with a .381 average. McDonald, Kalyn Harris, Lauren Swift and Nicole Warren have eight base knocks apiece, tied for the team lead. Harris’ five RBIs are also a team high.

Allison Tarbox’s .448 mark heads the Majors’ offense, smacking 13 hits in 29 at bats. She’s the only Major in double figure RBIs with 11 with two home runs, two triples and two doubles.

Emily Collins boasts a team-low 3.55 earned run average while Laurel Jones holds a 3-2 record in the circle despite a 6.39 ERA.

After hosting Millsaps, the Ladies will start a five-game road trip, beginning with a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Saturday at UT-Tyler.
