SHREVEPORT – After wrapping up the Midwest Independent Conference Championships last weekend, the Centenary gymnastics squad officially received its bid to compete at Nationals April 12 and two Ladies have been named alternates for the NCAA regional championship in Auburn, Ala., April 6.

Four Ladies have also been named to the MIC All-Conference second team. Robyn Price and Jessica Lieblich earned spots with their all-around performances. Price just missed her career-best mark, posting a 38.450 while Lieblich turned in a 38.275. Meg Crowley’s 9.775 score on the floor exercise finished in a tie for sixth, good enough for a spot on the second team. Stephanie Wright used a 9.775 showing on the uneven bars to claim a tie for fifth at the MIC Championships and a spot on the all-conference squad.

Lieblich and Ciara Maradiaga have been named alternates for the regional championships and will officially receive invitations if someone in front of them denies a bid or is injured and cannot compete.

Lieblich would compete in the all-around competition, boasting a season-high 38.75, set March 17 in the Ladies home finale against Kentucky. Maradiaga would be on the balance beam, where she holds a season-best and career-best 9.825.

The two helped the Ladies record their fourth-best score of the year with a 191.300 showing at the MIC Championships March 24, allowing Centenary’s season to continue and compete at Nationals.

The Ladies will compete April 12 in the first session against Texas Women’s, Air Force and William and Mary. The top two teams from that session will qualify for team finals on that Friday night and compete for the National Championship. The Ladies rotation for the semifinals will be uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and vault.
