Ladies unable to garner first SCAC win on Senior Day

SHREVEPORT - Centenary was unable to win its second straight game Sunday afternoon,  falling 4-0 to the University of Dallas as Rebecca Brunter put the Crusaders up 1-0 at the 4:47 mark and then scored again at the 7:37 mark with some quick offense en route to a 3-0 halftime lead.

The loss drops Centenary to 4-9-1 and 0-8 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play while Dallas improved to 11-7-1 and 4-3-1 with the shutout.

The Ladies wrapped up SCAC play before the league tournament next week. Centenary will play its final home game of the season Tuesday at 5 p.m. against non-conference opponent Louisiana College.

Centenary was outshot 26-8 with Carly Slovensky leading the Ladies with six shots, four on goal.

Brunter led Dallas with two goals on three shot attempts while Marin Chambers scored once on four shots and Kaitlin Meske added one as well. Mellissa Carpenter had two assists on the night while Chambers had one.

Lone senior Allie Cortes was honored before Sunday’s match, which was deemed Senior Day.
