SHREVEPORT- Spencer Nickerson netted the game-winning goal just two minutes into the first overtime to lift Centenary to a 2-1 non-conference men’s soccer victory in overtime against Louisiana College Tuesday night.

The victory extends the Gents winning streak to four heading into the Southern Collegiate Conference this weekend in San Antonio, Texas.

Centenary improves to 6-12, dropping LC to 7-8-2.

The first half was back and forth with neither team able to score despite Centenary’s 10-4 edge in shots. Zachary Kidder put the Gents on the board first with his second goal of the season at the 45:16 mark.

That lead was short-lived, though, as Caio Sousa tied the game just 12 minutes later with his eighth goal of the season. The rest of the half would remain scoreless.

Nickerson’s fifth goal of the year would be the difference, and was fitting for the senior playing his last game at Mayo Field.

Centenary outshot Louisiana College 24-6 for the game and had five corner kicks to one. Kellen Klaus led the team with five shot attempts. Adam Ghaemmaghami and Kidder had three shots each, with Kidder having two shots on goal. John Seat, Cullen Gallet, Clinton Azeez, and Brandon Heim each added two shots.

Goalie Robbie Ramirez played all 92:37 minutes and picked up three saves on the night. His counterpart Randy Richard also played the entire time and recorded five saves.

Tulio Glasner led the Wildcats with two shot attempts and also picked up an assist on Sousa’s goal.
