RADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Jesi Wilcox grabbed a game-high 13 digs to pull within 76 of sole possession of second place on the single-season digs list, but Centenary dropped a three-set match to Southwestern in the first round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball tournament.

The sixth-seeded Ladies fall to 2-30 and take on No. 5 University of Dallas (17-20), which lost 3-1 No. 4 Austin College Friday afternoon, Saturday at 1 p.m. in an elimination match.

Southwestern jumped out to an early advantage, taking the first set 25-11 before taking the final two 25-18, 25-16.

Wilcox topped the Ladies squad with 13 digs and matched Elizabeth Sandoval’s mark for a game high. She has at least two more changes to grab 76 digs.

Centenary hit .000 for the match with identical totals in kills and errors (18). Lindsey Bruce led Centenary with five kills, followed by Sarah Irons and Brooke Bahlinger with four.

Kaitlyn Foster recorded nine kills in 17 attempts to lead all hitters while teammate Lorin Froetschel had eight.
