COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Dallas swept Centenary Saturday afternoon for the third time this year, eliminating the Ladies from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball tournament.

The Ladies fall to 2-31 and wrap up the season Nov. 8 at the University of New Orleans. The University of Dallas (18-20) took fifth place in the league tournament with the three-set win (25-10, 25-21, 25-14).

“We didn’t exactly play to our potential this weekend,” head coach Jon Stenman said. “Too many mental errors sealed our fate.”

Senior libero Jesi Wilcox’s run to take sole possession of second place was stymied a bit Saturday, collecting just nine digs, still a team-best mark. Her nine digs puts her 67 shy of second place with the one match remaining.

Emily Caples led all hitters with nine kills, posting a .278 hitting mark after four erros in 18 total attacks. Sarah Irons topped the Ladies squad with four kills, but added seven errors in 13 attacks. Centenary accumulated 26 hitting errors to just 17 kills in 89 attempts for a -.101 hitting percentage.

Dallas Jagneaux posted the Ladies best hitting percentage (.250), two kills in four attempts with a single error.
