SHREVEPORT, La. -- The Centenary women’s soccer team looks to rebound from a 1-0 decision on Wednesday evening as the Ladies (2-2) travel to Conway, Ark. For two, weekend matches against Hendrix College. The Maroon and White open with a 4 p.m. match against the Warriors on Saturday, Sept. 14 and close out the weekend on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Centenary outshot Austin College in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener on Wednesday 10-8, including six shots on goal, but couldn’t find the back of the net in the contest.  The reigning SCAC Offensive Player of the Week, Amanda Atwell led the squad with three shots followed two from Madison Alexander and Traci Lee. Hannah Jo Wright, Laurie Priftis and Jackie Argueta each assisted in the shot total.

SCAC Defensive Player of the Week, Erica Coker (2-2) was saddled with the loss for the Ladies. The freshman collected one save in the complete 90 minutes in net.

The lone goal of the night came in the 76th minute off the foot of Lauren Scott. The shot was one of four taken by Scott on the evening as she led the Roos in the category. AC offered five shots in the second half.

Atwell tallied two goals, 12 shots with six on goal. All three marks stand as bests on the team through the first four matches of the season. Alexander sits second on the team in shots with 10 as is tied for second on the squad in shots on goal with four and one goal.

Hannah Jo Wright also has four shots on goal this season as Justine Russell and Kalie Hughes have each tallied a goal.

On the season, Coker has recorded a 85.7-save percentage with just three goals allowed with just over 349 minutes in goal.

Hendrix enters the weekend slate with a 3-2 record after wins over Austin College (3-0) and LeTourneau (4-2).

Hannah Sigda paces the Orange and Black with six goals on the season with three game winners. The sophomore also leads the squad in shots with 12 – all coming on goal. Rachel Zweig and Michaela Seltzer have split time in net for the Warriors with Zweig posting a 2-2 record in just over 303 minutes while Seltzer is 1-0 in 146 minutes worth of action. The duo has combined for one shutout on the season and has allowed just nine goals with 27 saves.

Following the weekend contests, Centenary returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 17 as the Ladies host LeTourneau at 5 p.m.
