CONWAY, Ark. – The Centenary men’s soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision on Saturday afternoon to Hendrix College in the opening contest of the Warriors hosted tournament. The loss sets the Gents back to 0-4 on the season.

The Maroon and White logged its first goal of the outing in the waning moments of the opening half. Jeremy Klespis posted the first goal of his Centenary career in the 44th minute off an assist from Chris Berrios. The Huntsville, Texas, native’s goal cut the lead in half heading into the intermission.

The Orange and Black totaled its first two goals early in the affair. Anthony Garlick posted the opening goal in the fourth minute off an assist from Greg Gandy. Will Dunaway provided the difference in the contest nearly two minutes later capitalizing on a feed from Spencer Holt. The goal would be the first of two for Dunaway in the contest as he posted his second at the 85:04 mark.

Centenary totaled just four shots on the day with two coming on goal.

Rylan Whan (0-1) took the loss in net for the Gents allowing the two Warrior goals in the first half while recording six saves. Chase Duet played the second in goal for the Maroon and White tallying a save and a goal allowed.

Hendrix took 21 shots in the effort, including 10 coming on goal.

Eric Bracy claimed the win for the Warriors recording a save in the decision.

Centenary returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 15 as the Gents face Rhodes College in the final contest of the Hendrix College Tournament. Match time is scheduled for Noon.
