CONWAY, Ark. – The Centenary women’s soccer team forced a draw against Hendrix College on Sunday afternoon. The tie moves the Ladies to 2-3-1 while HC is 4-2-1.

Centenary knotted the contest in the 83rd minute as Chelsea Russell scored on an unassisted goal. The goal marked the first of the season for the Shreveport, La., native. Russell becomes the fifth Centenary player to score a goal this season.

Russell was one of nine to record a shot for the Ladies as Traci Lee led the team with four. The Maroon and White registered 14 shots with seven coming on goal.

After a scoreless first half, the Warriors drew the first goal of the contest as Emily Kleinfelter took a pass from Arianna Hart to break the deadlock in the 66th minute. Hendrix attempted five shots in the contest with each coming on goal.

Lauren Cullen received the decision in the contest playing the final 45 minutes of the contest and recording a save paired the Warriors’ goal. Erica Coker drew the start for the Ladies tallying a save.

Michaela Seltzer drew the tie in net for the Orange and Black recording five saves.

Centenary returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 17 as the Maroon and White host LeTourneau. The match is scheduled for 5 p.m.
