SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary women’s soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision on Tuesday evening to LeTourneau University at Mayo Field. The Ladies fall to 2-4-1 on the season while LETU improves to 1-6.

The Maroon and White scored the first goal of the contest as Amanda Atwell scored in the 11th minute marking her team-leading, third goal of the season.

Stephanie Vana tied the contest in 43rd minute to send the outing into the intermission tied at 1-all. Vana placed the Blue and Gold on top in the 58th minute on her second, unassisted goal of the evening.

Raylene Gould increased the Jackets margin in the 60th minute on an assist from Ashley Gleghorn.

Carly Slovensky pulled the Ladies back within a goal in the 86th minute, but the Maroon and White couldn’t overcome the one goal deficit.

The squads took 13 shots apiece with each sending six shots on target.

Lauren Cullen (0-1-1) took her first loss of the season in net recording two saves against two goals allowed. Erica Coker took the start in goal tallying a save and a goal surrendered.

Jamie Aguillen received the win for the Jackets warning off four shots partnered with the two goals allowed.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Sept. 20 with a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference affair at the University of Dallas. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m.
