SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary volleyball team returns to the court on Tuesday, Sept. 24 as the Ladies (1-11) travel to East Texas Baptist for a 7 p.m. match.

The Maroon and White are coming off a 0-3 weekend at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Group-B Divisional at the University of Dallas. The Ladies were swept in straight sets for No. 11 Colorado College and Austin College. Centenary fell 3-1 to the host Crusaders.

Sarah Sumner paced the squad with 37 kills and five blocks on the weekend while finishing third on the team in digs with 20. Beth Nuttall tallied 57 assists during the three-match span while Brooke Bahlinger posted a team-leading 27 digs.

Sumner, a native of Arlington, Texas, leads the team with 93 kills on the season. Sarah Irons sits behind the junior with 87 kills. Lone senior Beth Nuttall has dished out 269 assists on the season which ranks ninth in the conference.

Defensively for the Ladies, Lindsey Long paces the team with 19 blocks during the campaign. The sophomore from Texarkana, Texas is one of three Ladies with double-digit blocks on the year. Kadidiatou Diawara has totaled 13 blocks with Sumner rejecting 12 attacks. Brooke Bahlinger sits atop the squad with 112 digs on the season – the only Centenary Lady in triple digits. Rachel Perkins ranks behind Bahlinger with 96 with Nuttall adding 93.

ETBU (10-5) opens its home slate against the Ladies. The Tigers dropped two of three over the weekend at the American Southwest Conference Pod. A loss to Hardin-Simmons snapped an eight-game win streak for the Blue and Gold.

Offensively, Kolby Sharp has registered 160 kills to lead a trio of Tigers that are in triple digits. Kassie Freitag and Melanie Moyer have each added 133 kills on the season. Kayla Taylor and Nicole Buzzard have each dished out 315 and 251 assists this season. Adaeze Elonu paces the squad in blocks with 58 while Sharp has 50 blocks. Hannah Jones has 223 digs on the season to lead the Tigers.  

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 28 as the Ladies travel to Georgetown, Texas for the second SCAC divisional.
