Gents' golf finishes sixth at UMHB Fall Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Centenary men’s golf team finished sixth at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor Fall Invitational. The Gents shot a second day total of 310 for a score of 617 for the two-day event.

Hank Strickler finished the event with a 147 for the Maroon and White. Strickler shot a second day score of 75 to sit in a tie for seventh. Larry Balthazar finished in a tie for 19th with 151 for the tournament.

Jamie Gibson improved his first day score by three strokes to finish tied for 40th. Gibson shot 78 on day two for a total of 159. Reese Chance improved his score by four strokes to finish tied for 43rd. Chancce shot a 78 on the day for a 160 overall. Arni Sigurdsson also improved his score from the opening day with an 83 – by eight strokes. Sigurdsson finished tied for 57th with a two-day score of 174.

Tyler Junior College claimed the team crown with a 575 for the two-day event. TJC’s Brandon Rougeau was the individual medalist with a two-round score of 138.

Centenary returns to the links at The University of Texas-Tyler. The two-day events begins on Monday, Sept. 30.
