GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Centenary women’s soccer team fell 3-0 at Southwestern on Sunday afternoon. The loss sets the Ladies back to 2-7-2 overall and 0-4 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action while SU improves to 3-6 and 2-1 in the conference.

Lindsay Jakszta scored two of the three goals for the Pirates with the first coming in the 32nd minute of contest. Jakszta added her second goal in the 54th minute as insurance for the Black and Gold. Jakszta led the squad with six shots, including three on goal.

Hannah Neil scored in the 83rd minute on an assist from Carol Bentley to round out the scoring.

Despite allowing three goals on the afternoon, Erica Coker secured 11 saves in the outing – marking back-to-back, double-digit save performances for the freshman.

Coker, Madison Alexander, Justine Russell, Laurie Priftis, Traci Lee and Amanda Atwell all attempted shots for the Maroon and White with Coker, Russell and Priftis putting theirs on target.

Mariah Escajeda secured the win in net for the Pirates recording one save on the afternoon.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Oct. 4 as the Ladies host Texas Lutheran at 5 p.m.
