SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary volleyball team snapped a 17-game skid with a 3-2 victory over LeTourneau at the Gold Dome on Wednesday evening. The win is the second, five-set decision for the Ladies this season.

Centenary claimed the opening set 25-19, but found themselves trailing 2-1 heading into set four. The Maroon and White knotted the contest at 2-all winning the fourth set 25-19 and forcing the game-deciding, fifth set. After jumping early in the fifth set, the Ladies rallied back in the set to claim the final set points to secure the win.

A trio of Ladies posted double-doubles on the night. Sarah Sumner recorded a team-best 19 kills paired with 16 digs on the evening. Brooke Bahlinger led a stellar defensive effort with 26 digs and 16 kills while Beth Nuttall tallied her seventh double-double of the season with a career-high 49 assists and 10 digs.

Rachel Perkins chimed in the kill category with 10 kills.

Centenary posted a season-best attack percentage at .239.

Alexia Thomas led the Jackets with 19 kills while Sarah Krippner paced the defensive effort with 16 digs.

Centenary returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 8 as the Ladies host UT-Tyler at 6 p.m.
