SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary women’s soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Southwestern University on Sunday afternoon as the Ladies fall to 3-12-2 overall and 1-9 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action. The Pirates improve to 8-7 and 7-2 in league play.

After a scoreless first half, the Black and Gold placed all four scores on the board in final half, including a hat trick by Sarah Bevins on the final three goals. Audrey Silver pasted the first score of the game within the first four minutes of play in the second stanza.

Lauren Cullen (0-4-1) took the loss for the Maroon and White despite recording a career-high 13 saves in the contest. Cullen warned off 17 shots on goal as SU tallied 28 shots in the game.

Laurie Priftis and Traci Lee paced Centenary with two shots each. The squad totaled seven in the contest with five coming on goal. Carly Slovensky, Amanda Atwell, Madison Alexander along with Priftis and Lee each placed a shot on target.

Mariah Escajeda (7-4) claimed the win in net with nearly 71 minutes of action. Katherin Rodgers replaced Escajeda, who registed five saves, in goal for the final allotment of time.

Bevins led the Pirates with eight shots on the day, including six on goal.

Centenary returns to action o Friday, Oct. 25 as the Ladies close out their home slate against the University of Dallas. Match time is scheduled for 5 p.m. Prior to the match, Centenary will honor its three seniors.
