SHERMAN, Texas – A pair of Madison Alexander goals, including the game-winner lead the Centenary women’s soccer team into the field for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship as the Ladies defeat Austin College 2-1 in overtime on Friday afternoon.

Alexander to an assist from Kalie Hughes in the 97th minute and found the back of the net to clinch the contest. The Keller, Texas, native notched her first goal of the day in the 78th minute off an assist from Traci Lee to knot the contest at 1-all and push the affair into the extra session

The sophomore joins teammate Carly Slovensky with multiple-goal efforts this season as is tied with Amanda Atwell for second on the team in scores on the campaign with three.

Alexander paced the squad taking five of the Ladies’ eight shots in the contest with three shots on goal.

Erica Coker collected her fifth win of the season shining in goal with 10 saves as AC attempted 23 shots on the day, including 11 on target.

Dominique Martinez placed the Roos on the board in the 23rd minute off an assist from Sydeny Redding. The score was the only shot taken by Martinez in the contest as Lauren Scott led the team with six.

Emily Brockette garnered four saves in the losing effort in goal for the Maroon and Gold.

Centenary improved to 5-12-2 overall and 3-8 in the SCAC while the Roos fall to 6-11-1 and 5-6-1 in conference play.
