DENTON, Texas – Robyn Price claimed the all-around crown at the Texas Women’s University tri-meet with a season-best score of 38.850. The Ladies, which recorded season-bests in vault, bars and floor, tallied a 189.150 marking a new team best for the 2014 campaign.

“Determination was a word for this week at practice. We wanted to be more determined in our skills and at practice,” said head coach Jackie Fain. “We were much better this week and posted our highest score of the season. We just have to keep fighting and competing every week.”

Price recorded season-bests in three of her four events en route to the title. The senior tallied a 9.750 on vault, a 9.725 on beam and a 9.775 in floor exercise – all season-highs and added a 9.600 on the bars. Price won beam and placed second on vault and fourth in floor.

“We had several standout performances today,” stated Fain. “Robyn, Kellie Slater and Tawnee Hadd all did phenomenal jobs on the beam. Stephanie Strickler did a great job on floor and vault. Natalie Humbert finished second on floor with a season-high. Jordan Anderson had a career-high as well.”

The Ladies recorded 16 season-highs in the effort as Hadd tied a season-best on the floor with a 9.625.

Stephanie Strickler totaled an all-around score of 36.900 to finish third. Strickler added season marks of 9.425 on vault, 8.800 on beam and 9.725 on floor along with an 8.950 on bars.

Anderson tallied 9.550 on floor and an 8.150 on bars. Slater posted a 9.650 on beam and a 9.550 on vault.

“Megan Dejardins has done an excellent job all season as our leadoff on beam, which is no easy task,” said Fain of the sophomore who scored a 9.400 in the event.

Centenary returns to the competition floor on Saturday, Feb. 15 as the Ladies travel to the University of New Hampshire.
