SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary softball dropped a doubleheader against Millsaps on Wednesday afternoon despite a rally in the sixth inning of the second game. The Ladies (1-13) fell 14-5 in the second outing after dropping a 12-2 decision in the opener.

Cadie Hancock paced the Maroon and White at the dish collecting three hits for the twinbill including a multiple effort in the second game. Hannah Hastie added a pair of hits for the doubleheader and drove in a run in the first outing.

Centenary’s biggest blow in the second contest came off the bat of Mookie Allison who garnered her first collegiate homerun with a three-run blast down the left field line in the sixth to score Whitney Patterson and Hastie. The dinger sparked the scoring frame for the Ladies as Laura Perilloux drove in Hancock and Amber Smith later scored on a wild pitch.

Hastie and Patterson added the only runs of the Ladies in the first outing. Abbie Woods, Hastie, Hancock and Nicole Warren each tallied hits.

The Ladies’ starting pitching struggled with the Majors bats as Perilloux and Patterson each last just a third of an inning the starts. Perilloux allowed four runs on five hits in the opener with Patterson surrendering four runs on eight hits with a strikeout. Lynsi Unruh totaled 7.1 innings in the double dip.

Millsaps totaled 32 hits in the two contests as multiple players recorded multi-hit efforts. Blakeli Entremont (6-1) tossed the complete-game performance in the first contest striking out two batters and allowing four hits along with a walk. Molly Tyner (2-0) took the win in the second contest pitching 5.1 innings and allowing all five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and two walks.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, March 22 as the Ladies travel to Southwestern University for a four-game series.
