GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Centenary softball team had a tough day at Southwestern University as the Ladies dropped a doubleheader to the Pirates. Centenary fell 9-0 in the opener and 8-1 in the finale for the weekend.

The Maroon and White managed just two hits in the twinbill both coming in the opening setback. Whitney Patterson and Emma Viskozki recorded the hits for the Ladies with Viskozki’s going for a double.

Lynsi Unruh (2-6) took the loss in the opening contest allowing nine runs on nine hits in 3.1 innings of work. The senior tallied a pair of strikeouts in the loss. Laura Perriloux, who took the loss in the second contest, tossed the final two-thirds of an inning giving up two hits.

The Ladies lone run in the second outing came as Nicole Warren scored on a Pirate error that allowed Patterson to reach base.

Perriloux (0-9) pitched 3.1 innings allowing seven of the SU runs on 11 hits while Patterson closed down the affair with 2.2 innings of work allowing the remaining run.

Centenary returns to action on Wednesday, March 26 as the Ladies host Westminster in a doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
