SEGUIN, Texas – The Centenary softball team was blanked 5-0 and 10-0 on Saturday to drop a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Ladies move to 5-27 on the season and 5-15 in conference play while the SCAC leader improves to 29-7 and 21-1 in the league.

The Maroon and White totaled three hits on the afternoon with Cadie Hancock, Dambra Perkins and Emma Viskozki each recording a hit.

TLU struck early in the opener scoring its first run on a Lynsi Unruh wild pitch in the first inning. The Bulldogs added a pair in the third inning as M Taylor singled up the middle to plate G Estes and J Brown. Brown drove in the Black and Gold’s fourth run in the fourth inning with a RBI single. M Gorrie completed the scoring in the sixth taking home on an error after stealing third base.

Unruh (5-15) was saddled with the complete-game decision allowing seven hits with two strikeouts and three walks.

TLU plated a run in each of its four trips to the dish in the second outing including multiple runs in the second, third and fourth frames. The Bulldogs tallied 21 total hits in the twinbill including 14 in the second contest.

Whitney Patterson (0-2) suffered the loss pitching 3.0 innings in the start. Patterson allowed eight runs on 11 hits while registering a walk and a strikeout. Laura Perriloux tossed the final frame surrendering two runs on three hits with a walk.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Apr. 18 as the Ladies host Schreiner University.
