SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary softball team dropped a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader on Friday evening to Schreiner University. The Ladies (5-29, 5-17 SCAC) fell 6-3 and 7-4 in the two contests.

Centenary combined for 14 hits in the twinbill. Dambra Perkins led the Maroon and White’s charge in the opening game with two hits and driving in two runs. In the second contest, Cadie Hancock connected on her third homerun of the season to plate two of the four Centenary runs.

Hannah Hastie, Mooke Allison, Lysi Unruh and Emma Viskozki each garnered a hit in both contests for the Ladies.

Multiple-run innings proved the difference in both contests as RBI singles in the fifth plated the winning runs in the opener and a three-run, fifth separated the two squads in the night cap.

Unruh (5-17) took the loss in both contests. The senior hurler combined for 11.0 innings of work allowing 12 runs on 16 hits with five walks and six strikeouts in the double dip. The six fans came in the complete-game decision in the opener.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Apr. 19 as the Ladies conclude the four-game series with a doubleheader slated for Noon.
