SHREVEPORT, La. – Centenary volleyball coach Caley Carter announced that Elizabeth Hilliard and Bailey McDonald completed the necessary paperwork and deposit with intent to attend Centenary College of Louisiana. Both natives of the Lone Star State, Hilliard comes to Centenary from Athens while McDonald hails from Chandler.

“Bailey has a Centenary background as her dad Jeff is a 1986 graduate of Centenary. She’s a back row player that has a very good work ethic and is very coachable.  I think she will be a great teammate from the beginning,” said Carter. “Elizabeth is in the unique position of coming to Centenary as a junior academically, having graduated high school in January and taken so many college credits.  She primarily plays back row and can hit as well, if needed.  Bailey and Elizabeth have spent this winter playing on the same club team.”

McDonald is a two-time Academic All-District selection and earned the Bearette Most Valuable Athlete Award and Most Valuable Runner during the 2012-13 season at Brownsboro High School. McDonald plans to major in Communications at Centenary.

Hilliard was an Academic All-District performer four straight years and was named Freshman of the Year at Athens High School. Hilliard was also named to the All-Henderson County First Team. She plans to major in Pred-Med at Centenary.
