SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary men’s and women’s soccer teams hosted the Soccer Shots of Northwest Louisiana and the Red River Development League on Monday for a free clinical.

"Each year Centenary Soccer partners up with an organization to give back to our community. This year, the Ladies & Gents soccer players conducted a free soccer clinic for kids ages 3-10 with the help of Soccer Shots of NW Louisiana and the Red River Development League," Orr said. "Our players have a blast working with the kids and look forward to events like this each year. There were about 100-120 kids and it looks like fun was had by all.'

The Soccer Shots students, ranging in age from 3-10, were able to not only interact with the student-athletes, but were able to participate in drills and games such as dribbling, shooting, and more.

“It was incredible to see the excitement of our Shreveport-Bossier City youth soccer players and parents interested in learning the game of soccer and interacting with our collegiate student-athletes,” said men’s head coach Emmett Rutkowski. “We look forward to growing the game in the area and building a strong community base for Centenary soccer, athletics, and most importantly, our institution.”

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Sept. 12. The Ladies host the University of the Ozarks at 5 p.m. with the Gents traveling to Colorado College for a 5 p.m. kick.
