MARSHALL, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team fell to 2-7 on the season after dropping a pair of contests in a tri-meet hosted by East Texas Baptist. The Ladies fell 3-1 in the opener against LeTourneau and dropped straight sets to the host Tigers.

In the opener, the Maroon and White and Yellowjackets fought to a deadlock after the first two sets following a 25-13-Centenary victory in the second frame, but the Blue and Gold nudged away the final two sets (25-21, 26-24) to claim the victory.

Desiree Frey and Rachel Perkins paced the offensive attack as the duo recorded double-digit kills in the four-set match. Frey led the squad with 13 kills with Perkins adding 11 in the match. Allison Lazewski dished out 21 assists in the effort.

Defensively, four Ladies posted double figure digs led by 22 from Haley Cubberly. Perkins added 16 with Lazewski posting 14 digs. Chelsea Petska rounded out the group with 11 digs.

In the nightcap, ETBU bolstered an offensive attack posting a 52-plus attack percentage.

Kadidiatou Diawara and Linsay Bruce led the Ladies with three kills while Cubberly added eight digs to lead the team. Lazewski recorded 10 assists in the effort.

Centenary returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 17 as the Ladies host LeTourneau. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
