SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary volleyball team had its home opener spoiled as the Ladies (2-8) fell in straight sets to LeTourneau University on Wednesday evening. The YellowJackets improve to 4-8 on the season.

With September being Blood Cancer Awareness Month, Centenary honored those affected by Blood Cancer prior to the match.

A trio of Ladies led the way. Jayde Monnette paced the Maroon and White with six kills on the evening while Allison Lazewski dished out 10 assists. Defensively, Haley Cubberly picked up 10 digs in the match.

The Maroon and White challenged LETU in the opening set despite falling 25-17. The YellowJackets took control of the match in the second set as the Ladies witnessed the visitors from Longview, Texas, take a 25-9 victory and hold a 2-0 advantage in the match. Centenary rallied back in the third set and posed a challenge before falling 25-21.

Kayla Ronda paced a quartet of Jackets with an attack percentage .300-plus as she collected nine kills.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 20 as the Ladies travel to Irving, Texas, for the first of two Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Divisionals.
